NETT Conference 2022

On August 16, 2022 the Orleans-Niagara Teacher Center hosted its 12th annual NETT Conference (Niagara’s Exploration of Technology in Teaching) at Niagara University. The yearly event drew over 85 educators from across WNY. This year’s event began with a virtual keynote from renowned author and tech guru, Kasey Bell, and continued with 18 breakout sessions focused on Technology in Teaching. Merge Cube Training

In the summer of 2022, area teachers came together to learn the powerful learning impact of the Merge Cube, how to integrate them into classroom instruction and how to make their own with their students. TAPS: Tenure Attainment Program & Mentoring Academy

Oceanside Professional Learning Center works collaboratively with the Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Research to provide exceptional, cutting edge professional learning experiences to our District's educational staff. Using a 'medical model,' our Resident Teachers are paired with advanced and expert teachers to learn, observe, reflect, and develop lifelong learning skills and habits as professional educators. The four-year program focus on the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and The Danielson Model. Non-Probationary Teachers and T.A.'s are invited for monthly support. Educator Wellness Retreat

Wednesday 7/27/22, educators gathered for a day of healing their bodies, hearts, and minds, surrounded by the natural setting of the Visitor's Interpretive Center in Paul Smith's NY. This was an opportunity to relax, rejuvenate, and focus on techniques to support their healing. The activities and techniques shared during the various sessions are easily adapted to meet the SEL needs of their students. Assemblyman Billy Jones stopped by to visit this event. Hosted by the Adirondack Teacher Center (Eastern Upstate Network)

Walk and Learn: Using Exercise and Podcasts to Facilitate Learning

In the fall of 2022, MESTRACT hosted a course titled "Walk and Learn: Using Exercise and Podcasts to Facilitate Learning". The course discussed innovative ways for students to get exercise without sacrificing instructional time. In addition, the course explored the favorable link between exercise and cognitive function. Teachers actively participated in the walk and learn program to see how it could benefit students. Teachers learned how they and their students can make their own podcasts to share.
