Program Initiatives

The Teacher Center Network has developed several programs and resources in response to the emerging needs of its constituents.

ProgramEvaluation.org
The Program Evaluation website was developed to help Teacher Centers plan, implement, and communicate evaluation activities.  Through tutorials, tools such as planning guides and questionnaires, case studies, and other resources, visitors can explore  evaluation in both theory and action.

Regents Review Live!
Regents Review Live!, has been helping high school students across New York State prepare for Regents exams for more than 15 years.  It is an excellent resource for teachers and students.  Programs guide them through the tests, give pertinent information regarding test-taking skills, and provide information regarding rules for taking the test.  The series, originally developed by teacher centers, is now called Regents Review 2.0, the next generation of Regents exam preparation, and is produced by SUNY and the Association of Public Broadcasting Stations of New York.

Teacher Center Leadership Academy
Aware that leaders affect the quality of professional learning, the Teacher Center Network established this academy to build the leadership capacity of its members.  Contact lucianma@oneonta.edu for more information.

Teacher Center Online Academy  (OLA)
The Online Academy provides a variety of locally developed online courses to deepen educator’s skills and enhance pedagogical knowledge.  All of the courses address the NYS Learning Standards and are designed by NYS teachers trained in program development and online course facilitation.  Courses cover instructional approaches. the humanities, math, science, special education and technology.  The OLA is supported by New York State Teacher Centers, Nassau BOCES, and NYIT.

ThinkfinityNY and Beyond
The national Thinkfinity website contains thousands of resources provided and vetted by the leading educational organizations in the arts, English, math, science and social studies.  ThinkfinityNY was created to identify and link teachers to the resources that are aligned to New York’s Common Core Learning Standards in every grade and subject area.  The addition of resources developed by NYS teachers in collaboration with the Intel Teach Program and Smart Technologies, and the resources developed by museum educators in collaboration with EEZ, led to adding the phrase and Beyond to the title.
