Local Partnerships

Teacher Centers across the state have formed many enriching partnerships with local cultural, environmental, and specialized education institutions. These collaborations provide opportunities for teachers to become familiar with the resources available in their community and to work with the organizations to design programs and activities that support the Common Core Learning Standards and address the learning needs of all their students.

  • Far West Network: partners with NEED (National Energy Education Development Project) to provide free programs focused on energy instruction as it relates to state and national standards.
  • Greater Rochester Network: collaborates with the Genesee Valley ASCD and local BOCES to sponsor regional professional learning focused on such topics as: Response to Intervention and the new social studies framework.
  • LINC: works with the New York Council for the Humanities to bring speakers, who are researchers and experts in their respective fields, to present professional development to content area teachers to enhance their curricula knowledge.

For more information about local partnerships in your region, please contact your local Teacher Center.
